Best Practices & General Information

We recommend that you don’t burn candles or incense around your air purifier to ensure that your air is kept clean and your health is not negatively impacted. Burning candles and incense has potential health effects due to exposure to contaminants and particulate matter. Exposure to incense smoke has been linked to several illnesses and certain brands of incense contain chemicals that can cause skin irritation.

Yes, feel free to use your Intellipure air purifier in a vehicle or mobile home! Our units do not draw large amounts of power, which means that a 12-volt inverter with at least 100 watts of power will do. Our Compact Air Purifier only uses 65 watts on the turbo setting, and our Ultrafine 468 unit only uses 95 watts on the turbo setting.

We do not recommend using extension cords or surge protectors with your Intellipure air purifiers. Extension cords and surge protectors come in a wide variety of power ratings and classifications that can interfere with the normal operation of DFS technology and the function of your unit’s motor. Some underground extension cords and surge protectors can also give feedback that can interfere with the control panel functions.

Yes — Intellipure offers a 5-year limited warranty. Our warranty covers any issues you have with your air purifier motor for five years and problems with electronic components for one year.  We recommend customers in the US complete the enclosed warranty registration card within 10 days of purchase to ensure complete coverage.

Tip: You can register your warranty online by visiting this page.

This depends on multiple factors such as square footage, ceiling height, and the pollution level in your space.

  • Compact - 0-500 sq ft, 2-3 changes per hour
  • Ultrafine 468 - 0-1200 sq ft, 2-3 changes per hour

*Based on a controlled testing environment

Air changes per hour or air change rate is a measure of the air volume added to or removed from space in one hour, divided by the volume of the space.1

All of our air purifiers are designed to operate effectively 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We believe that the only way to treat indoor spaces is to run the air purifier constantly, as air cleaning is not an event but rather a continual process. If you have any questions about the most efficient way to run your air purifier, feel free to contact us.

To prevent fires or shock hazards, do not expose your unit to rain or moisture. Our air purifiers are designed for dry, indoor residential use and should not be cleaned under running water or immersed or sprayed with liquids. In the event your air purifier is exposed to moisture, make sure the unit is completely dry before turning it back on.

Our Intellipure Certified Refurbished Units are quality air cleaning products sold at great prices. Every product completes a rigorous refurbishment process that includes full testing to ensure it meets the same functional standards as new Intellipure air purifiers. Your refurbished unit is covered by Intellipure’s warranty and return policy, which protects electrical components for up to one year and the motor/blower for up to five years. New filters and free shipping are also included with your refurbished unit.

CADR stands for clean air delivery rate.

  • Compact Unit: 145.3 overall
  • Ultrafine 468 Unit: 313.5 Pollen / 269.3 Dust / 259.9 Smoke

For the most effective results, you should place your air purifier in an area where you spend the most time and where airflow won’t be restricted. It is best to give your air purifier enough “breathing room” so that it can take in harmful particles and let out as much clean, fresh air as possible. We also recommend that you don’t place objects directly on top of your air purifier, as this can restrict the amount of air coming out of the unit.

If you decide to mount your Compact Unit on the wall, make sure to leave space between the top of the unit and your ceiling.

New filters sometimes do have an “odor” to them. The smell is non-toxic, harmless, and should go away after a few days of running the unit.

We compare it to the smell of a new face mask. What you can do to help alleviate the odor is run the system on the Turbo setting as much as possible within the first 24 hours to help break-in the new filters.

Be sure to run your system 24/7/365 since having clean air is a process and not an event.

How To: Compact filter replacement and maintenance?

⚠️Caution: Always disconnect power to the unit before servicing

Maintaining your Intellipure Compact filter with proper care is crucial to ensuring your unit runs smoothly and effectively cleans your indoor air. Your filter maintenance schedule should be based on the pollution area in your level because filters in units that operate in heavily polluted areas need to be replaced and cleaned more often.

For most environments, you should replace your pre-filter every 6 months and your main filter every 9 to 12 months. The unit’s high-energy grid should be cleaned with a lint-free cloth every 3 months. Read our instructions above on how to replace your Compact Air Purifier filters for proper installation!

Pre-filter maintenance

⚠️Caution: Always disconnect power to the unit before servicing

  1. First, make sure all power to the unit is shut off.
  2. Remove the front cover of the main unit by grabbing both sides of about 1/3 of the distance from the bottom and pulling the bottom part away from the main body of the unit.
  3. When the bottom of the front cover is a few inches away from the main body, use both hands to pull the front cover down slowly to disable the child lock on top of the front cover.
  4. The pre-filter is locked into the front cover. Use one hand to hold the front cover frame. Use one finger to grab the small ring and pull out the integrated pre-filter. Clean as necessary.
  5. After pulling out the integrated mesh cover, you will see the replaceable VOC pre-filter laying underneath. Replace as necessary.

High Energy Grid maintenance

⚠️Caution: Always disconnect power to the unit before servicing

  1. Turn the safety lock on the high-energy grid from vertical to horizontal; gently pull out the high-energy grid and put it aside on a secure, clean, and dry surface.
  2. Use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe off the dust on the high-energy plate and high-energy wires. If the high-energy grid is cleaned with a damp cloth, air dry the grid before reinstallation.

Main filter & VOC post-filter replacement

⚠️Caution: Always disconnect power to the unit before servicing

  1. Gently pull out the main filter and VOC post-filter cartridge.
  2. Unwrap the plastic on both of your new filters prior to reinstalling them.

Reinstalling your filters

⚠️Caution: Always disconnect power to the unit before servicing

  1. Reinstall the main filter and VOC post-filter cartridge. Make sure the VOC post-filter is facing inside (toward the motor/fan). The main filter must go all the way back in the inner housing toward the fan.
  2. To reinstall the high-energy grid. Make sure the grid and safety lock are facing out towards the front of the unit (towards the cover). The safety lock needs to be on top.
  3. Turn the lever from horizontal to vertical to lock the high-energy grid in place.
  4. Put the pre-filter back on the inside of the door and secure the integrated mesh to hold it into place. There are 10 contact points that you will want to make sure are securely locked in place.
  5. Lastly, put your door back on making sure that the upper tabs at the top of the unit go in first. If done so correctly everything should lock into place.

Reset respective indicators after replacing/cleaning filters.

⚠️Caution: Always disconnect power to the unit before servicing

  1. Reset pre-filter indicator: Hold filter 1/VOC pre-filter indicator for at least 5 seconds to reset the timer.
  2. Reset main filter indicator: Hold filter 2/main filter indicator for at least 5 seconds to reset the timer.
  3. Reset VOC post-filter indicator: Hold filter 3/VOC post-filter indicator for at least 5 seconds to reset the timer.
  4. Reset DFS indicator: Touch the DFS indicator button to turn DFS on or off.

Note: When the indicator is reset, the respective red light will go out and the indicator will return to normal (illuminated in white).
