Why clean air is important

Air pollution is the world's largest single environmental health risk. And, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), 92% of the world's population breathes polluted air. Since we live in the south where everything seems to grow wild, we are in a densely populated area, and have dogs with tons of dander - we were not creating an ideal breathing situation in our home.

This is why I (as well as the EPA) recommend for families who want to live healthier lifestyles to invest in a portable, high-end air purifier. My entire life we had HEPA filtration systems throughout our home. Both my mom and I had bad seasonal allergies, plus we always had multiple dogs in the home that shed dander. To keep our home and the air we breathed clean was a battle.

A year ago I was introduced to Intellipure Inc., a creator of intelligent air purity products that provide the highest performance, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. Intellipure air purity products are at the forefront of the industry in terms of energy efficiency, measuring ultra-fine particle effectiveness, micro-organism capture, and reduction of odors and volatile organic compounds in the air.

For the last year, we have used the Intellipure Ultrafine 468 which combats all three pollutant categories - micro-organisms, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and particles. It captures 99% of airborne particles down to .007 microns in size! The noise level is minimal, though we also use this as our upstairs hallway white noise machine between the girls' rooms. It can create noticeable changes in breathing, snoring, asthma, allergies, and overall quality of life.

So let's talk cost. It is a lot. $999 to be exact. But here's where it holds its value:

Having this makes me feel more at ease. We all put many dollars and thoughts in what we put on and inside our body. The air we breathe should be no different. We keep ours in the hallway outside our bedrooms and it runs 24/7. Sure, my air purifier costs about as much as my phone, but I can't argue with the investment to provide clean air for my family.
