Allergen Report March 2025

Allergen Report March 2025

Feb 28, 2025

Spring is here! Well, mostly here at least for a lot of the country. There’s still plenty of snow on the ground in some places, but there is plenty of spring related evidence starting to poke out elsewhere. March is a great time to get a head start on spring cleaning and throwing open a window or two on the first warm day (as long as the outdoor air quality is acceptable). Trees across the country are already hard at work cranking out pollen but nowhere near peak levels yet. Luckily grasses and weeds are still keeping a low allergy profile, but that situation won’t last long.

Here are the typical pollens that can be found across the United States this March:

Northeast

Tree pollen: Alder, American Elm, Ash, Birch, Cedar, Juniper, Maple
Grass pollen: Typically none in measurable quantity.
Weeds: Typically none in measurable quantity.

Southeast

Tree pollen: Birch, Cedar, Cottonwood, Elm, Juniper, Maple, Pine
Grass pollen: Typically none in measurable quantity.
Weeds: Typically none in measurable quantity.

Midwest

Tree pollen: Alder, Birch, Cedar, Cottonwood, Juniper, Maple
Grass pollen: Typically none in measurable quantity.
Weeds: Typically none in measurable quantity.

South Central

Tree pollen: Birch, Cedar, Cottonwood, Juniper, Maple, Mesquite

Weeds: Typically none in measurable quantity.

Southwest

Make sure to check out the January Allergen Report to learn more about each of these pollens.

Be smart and get ahead of the spring pollen deluge before your sinuses begin to suffer. Adding one or more Intellipure air purifiers to your home or office is the best defense for not only pollen, but a whole list of other nasty airborne pollutants. Things like mold spores, soot, bacteria, microplastics and more are harmful to your health, which is why you need a high-quality air purifier to remove them from the air you breathe. Intellipure's DFS technology uses electronically enhanced filtration to attract and capture ultrafine particles (99.97% filtration down to 0.3 microns). Simply plug in an Intellipure portable air purifier and take control of your home's indoor air quality all year long.

Got Mold? Are You Sure?

One of the earliest signs of a mold problem is smell. You might notice a nagging musty odor around the house, especially in damp areas like basements, crawl spaces, or bathrooms. Water problems often come before mold, so pay special attention when you find water where it shouldn’t be. Water stains, warped floors, peeling paint, peeling wallpaper, and window condensation are early warning signs of where mold may begin. Once mold starts growing allergies might kick in causing sneezing and coughing. Of course the most obvious sign of mold is seeing mold itself. Mold grows in a wide variety of colors, not just black. If you notice any of these signs you need to get to the root of the problem, which is likely moisture. Fix water leaks, get air moving for better ventilation, even look into a dehumidifier. To remove mold and mold spores from the air you need a high-quality air purifier like the portable Intellipure Compact or a SuperV whole-house solution. Using an air purifier keeps mold spores from spreading and keeps them out of your lungs.

Spring Cleaning And Indoor Air Quality

Once warm weather arrives many people feel energized to get their home looking its best with a good deep cleaning. That means vacuuming, organizing, and scrubbing. Digging out closets, cabinets, and basements can send all kinds of harmful things into the air. Spring cleaning chemicals can also introduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to the air. Consider wearing a respirator or face mask when really digging into areas that haven’t been touched in a while. If the weather is nice you can open a few windows so the bad things in the air can dissipate. Just make sure to check your local outdoor air quality so that you aren’t bringing more bad things in by accident. But you can’t leave the windows open forever, which is why you need an air purifier to do the indoor air spring cleaning for you.

Intellipure air purifiers are designed to conquer airborne allergies all year round. Our solutions are engineered in the USA and trusted in nearly every industry. To find out more about the Intellipure air purifier lineup and follow us on Instagram at @Intellipure.
